Paintings

“Andy Warhol once said, “An artist is somebody who produces things that people don’t need to have.” He had a point there, you know. Man, as the single largest collector of VonMax paintings I clearly have produced things people don’t need to have. To those who like my work I am flattered. To those who have purchased my work I am perpetually amazed at your complete lack of class and elegance. Just kidding. I am always so incredibly honored when someone purchases one of my works and even more so when they send a photo of one of my pieces hanging in their home or office. I didn’t get in to this for the money so aside from a few commissioned pieces (which I absolutely hate doing), I paint for me. I paint for my own reasons and enjoyment. I won’t knock artists that are out there busting their butts trying to hustle a few bucks for a canvas. That’s their call. As far as I am concerned there is enough pressure just getting through life on a day to day basis sometimes. There are simply too many other things going on in my life to worry about whether or not someone, somewhere likes or hates something that I have created. Just sit back, relax. Have a cold beer.”
